Fixing problems

I think most of us at some time will try to use the Course to fix our problems. And that's not understanding correctly what it is. Using the Course and Quantum Forgiveness is like a savings account: it becomes very important in the long term (decades) but in the short term it does not fix anything at all, in the short term you need a hands-on approach.

Or a mind-on approach.

Moving things around in the projection is sometimes necessary but wouldn't you say that becoming aware of the source of the particular mind-state that is perpetuating the problematic projection, or the problematic interpretation of the projection, is sometimes enough to effect a change in the manifestation or the painful resistance to it?

That's my experience anyway. Maybe that's what you meant.

Yes, sometimes it does, but not always, and especially not when one is working on the deep levels which the Course tends to aim at.

Can you explain further what you mean?

It seems to me that the Course works directly on the Great Undefined Guilt reservoir, and as such may not help with little specific parts of the Projection, or at least not for a while.

Unlike things like reiki, EFT, hypnosis, Dianetics, Cognitive-Behavioral-Therapy, etc etc etc, which heal the specific problems that we are most concerned with.

... And those may chip away at the Guilt Reservoir, but the Course is more effective at that. But much more fearsome for the same reason.

Oh I totally agree that it chips away at the guilt reservoir. It's amazing in that way. And true, the Course does not fix our problems (except to let us know that our one problem has already been solved).

But it also gives clues as to how the projection works, which is an important part of the process, I think... a lower rung of the ladder, but important nonetheless. In that sense, it gives enough clues so that if one wishes, some symptoms can be worked with on that level.

Dear Marian,
I feel the Course does fix our problems. It can lead to inspired thoughts of how to "move the furniture around" and can bring a sense of peace where unrest used to hurt us.

Maybe we could say that it fixes the *cause* of problems.
