Curing anger

"If you would cure anger, do not feed it. Say to yourself: 'I used to be angry every day; then every other day; now only every third or fourth day.' When you reach thirty days offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the gods."
-- Epictetus

Bill Thetford used as a measurement of progress: how long does it take you to let go of enmity? If it gets shorter, you're progressing.

I always say that it's not a matter of whether or not you fall off the horse. It's a matter of how quickly you get back on.
