It is a fine thing to establish one's own religion in one's heart, not to be dependent on tradition and second-hand ideals.

another way of seeing
Christ's own heart.
I was listening to a few of Casting Crown's (Pastor Mark is their lead singer) songs, just now, and came across this vid. Check out the collector's comics he's got framed behind him. :-) The vid's pretty good info, as well.
the problem ultimately with this
is that our own heart, our own feelings, even our intuitions,
can lead us so astray. We've been down that long road of suffering before. We've been going our own way. The H.S. is the connecting link out, as Christ feels everything we feel, yet is not moved to despair. He moves us into the Good.

Yes, the point has been made by some of the good authors (like Ken Wapnick) that it's not a trivial thing to learn to distinguish between the HS and other little voices.
By the way, the HS is very poor with specifics. Many people have "been told" for example that they will die on a specific day or such, and it doesn't happen.
"Be still and know that I Am god." How's that for specifics?
What the conditioned mind calls specifics is to the H.S. illusion.
We ask too small.

Very good point.

""Be still and know that I Am god.""
One of my most favorite "commandments" of God's. I find it so beautiful and...reassuring. :-)
I ran into this little blurb and couldn't have written it more beautifully, myself. Hope you both enjoy! Have a blessed day! :-D
Thank you TC[Girl], good information.
That is one beautiful psalm.
For the part which reads, "God brings destruction upon the world"
I would interpret that as, God brings destruction to every single concept we have, or have ever had, of the world . . . .
because behold, He makes all things new. He, being Source and End of all.
I think a good question related to this original post would be: How do we recognize the H.S.'s Voice within us? or among us?
Think of the Matrix film, first one, the woman in the red dress hologram, think how her beautiful voice would be in, say, a hungry or lonely man looking for truth. How do we know the Spirit's voice?
or, we've been led into the desert and have walked with Christ there for years on end. Finally, up ahead, water! and it says so gently, "drink me." And it's yet one more illusion. It's a good question then, how do you know the Spirit's voice?
