Creating something real

I've made a discovery:

Trying to create something real is an awakening-process.

They tell us, and I believe them, that nothing is real besides God/Oneness/Source. So I'm sure you can't really create something real. But that's besides the point. The point is the trying.

I do it by art, but I'm sure it'll work with anything, like trying to create a "real family" or trying to build a "real boat", both of them as opposed to the fake ones you get handed from others.

I don't know how it works. Maybe it's simply that when you keep reaching for something real, you get something real, in the end.

I too have pondered about the nature of creating in the sense of ACIM.
According to ACIM first comes healing and then creating (our original function). We were born to create the good. My understanding is that creating is related to extending oneself into whatever happens to inspiredly flow from us. ACIM says ,we were created to create like God. Therefore it seems to me that real creation cannot have effects to be perceived. It seems a paradox that everything that is real is created already and nevertheless can be added to. ACIM also says that in reality we've never stopped creating and that the results of our creating are waiting for us.
Finally I must say I am certain that creating something real must be possible. Trying must lead to true results, otherwise it'd be an Ego thing similar to "seek and do not find". What God wills us to do must be possible.

I'll ask J for further clarification.

"True giving is creation. It extends the limitless to the unlimited, eternity to timelessness, and love unto itself. It adds to all that is complete already. . . by letting what cannot contain itself fulfill its aim of giving everything it has away, thus securing it forever for itself" (ACIM W.pI.105.4:2,3,4,5).

Only god is real, and he is already created.
