New McKenna book

Surprise! I, like Jed McKenna himself, thought he was Done after his brilliant "Enlightenment" trilogy. But behold, there's a new book out, Theory Of Everything.

I'd say it's simpler than the others, but worthwhile reading.
Here's a quote:

"This is another way of expressing the awakening process, and the decisive question is, do you hate false-self more than you fear no-self?" - Jed McKenna

So there is a true self, a false self and a no self? No wonder I act schizophrenic.

Ah, I can solve that: actually there is no "true Self".
You can choose between a lie and nothing.
There, feel better?

That's what all the smart people who've been there say anyway.
But a few even smarter ones say that while there is no "Self" as we understand it, there is *something*. Something which is real, and as such, has infinitely more value than anything in a dream. It's just that the Something can't be understood by a human mind because it's not limited or defined (same thing) by time or space.

What is this "you" that has to choose between a lie or nothing? Is this "you"a lie or is it nothing?

Sorta both. If I say "there's a rhino here", the rhino can be seen as a lie, because my claim is a falsehood, but it's also nothing, because it ain't there.

If its"sorta both," then where's the question of "hating the false-self more than fearing the no-self?" That implies that there are two separate entities and not "sorta both."

Here's something for you to consider:
Awakening is the realization that there is no such thing as awakening, because there is nothing that is non -Awakened.
